by Wayne Gaeddert
1. Damascus was the capital of the Roman province of Syria.
2. Damascus was approximately 135 miles from Jerusalem.
3. Persecution of the followers of Jesus is really persecuting Jesus.
4. Women are important to the mission and ministry of the church. If women were not important in the early church, persecution would not have been directed at them.

6. Jesus can transform the worst sinner into a dynamic spiritual leader.
7. It is better to have spiritual sight than physical sight.
8. When God redeems someone, he also has a purpose for their life. A place where they uniquely fit into a family of believers to exercise their God given gift as they minister to the family of believers.
9. Sinners transformed by the mercy and grace of God are to be welcomed into the fellowship of believers.
10. God provides opportunities to use your talent (gift) for the glory of his kingdom.
11. Not everyone will be pleased when a person proclaims the good news of the gospel.
12. We do not seek God; He first seeks after us.

13. Saul was not the first in his family to become a believer. Rom 16:7
14. Christianity is a personal encounter followed by a daily relationship.
15. Saul’s conversion is such an important point in church history that it is recorded 3 times in the book of Acts; chapters 9, 22, and 26. Dr. Bob Utley
16. Application:
A person’s past does not disqualify them from being called by God.
God can humble prideful arrogant souls—even to become believers.
The light of Jesus when shined on the soul will transform a life.
