Luke 23:33-46

2. “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”—so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.” Galatians 3:13-14
3. Prophecies fulfilled at the time of the crucifixion.
· Psalm 34:20, John 19:36 No broken bones.
· Isaiah 53:12 Crucified along with criminals.
· Psalm 22:18 Casting lots for his clothes.
· Psalm 22:7 Mocking and wagging their heads.
· Isaiah 53:3 Despised and rejected by men.
· Psalm 69:21 They gave him vinegar to drink.
4. Calvary a Latin word that means ‘The Skull.’ In Hebrew it is called Golgotha.

12. By Jewish time, the 3rd hour is 9 am, the 6th hour is noon, and the 9th hour is 3 pm.
13. Application:
· Jesus fulfilled his purpose by providing forgiveness of sin to all who believe.
· Jesus has given believers the purpose of being his witnesses.
· Jesus’ sacrifice for our sins has opened our access to His presence.
· Jesus has paid the price for all sin, it is up to us to submit to His call on our lives.
· The life of Jesus was not taken from Him, He gave His life for us.
