Lessons Learned
Ezekiel 28:11-19; 25-26

1. Lamentation - A passionate expression of grief or sorrow.
2. Tyre - An ancient Phoenician city on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, known for its wealth and trade.
3. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” ESV James 1:17
4. God is the source of all blessing.
5. “...Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for ‘God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.’” ESV 1 Peter 5:5
6. The love of money is the root of all sorts of evil. (See 1 Timothy 6:10)
7. You do not have to be rich to love money.
8. Questions to think about:
· What kind of temptations come with success or wealth?
· As people who are relatively wealthy by the standard of the rest of the world, how do we guard ourselves against yielding to such temptations?
· What kinds of things do many people put their trust in today?
· As people who do not know God watch your life, how do they see God in you?
· How would you define the difference between confidence and pride?
9. “Pride goes before destruction,
and a haughty spirit before a fall.” ESV Proverbs 16:18
10. “Haughty eyes and a proud heart,
the lamp of the wicked, are sin.” ESV Proverbs 21:4
11. “One's pride will bring him low,
but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.” ESV Proverbs 29:23
12. Ask God to help you examine your life for areas of pride, especially ways in which this pride gets in the way of holy living. Ask Him to show you how to honor Him in these areas.
13. Application:
· God is the giver of all that you have.
· God will judge how you have used the gifts He has given you.
· God has a plan for His people.
