Jeremiah 18:1-12

Lessons Learned

1. As you yield to God, He reshapes you into a vessel of honor.

2. Repentance is not only turning from evil, but also turning to good. Dr. Bob Utley

3. Repentance removes the necessity for judgment.

4. Repentance turns the heart of God.

5. Faith and faithfulness have consequences, as do idolatry and disobedience. Dr. Bob Utley

6. Rebellion removes you from God’s umbrella of protection.

7. God’s love is why grace is extended to us.

8. God’s justice demands judgment for those who do not repent.

9. God never changes His character, nature, or being. God does, however, change His actions toward people when they (begin or stop) rejecting His standards.

10. Application:

  • God is the creator and ruler of the universe, we are subject to His authority.

  • God has the right and authority to forgive those who repent and judge those who do not.

  • God is working in the lives of believers to conform them into the image of Christ.

“For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.” Romans 8:29
