1. Last kings of Judah:
Josiah (627 – 609 BC)- The last good king. He was killed in battle with Egypt. Egypt did not want a fight with Judah but Josiah would not stand down when Egypt was marching to war with Assyria. 2 Kings 23:29.

Jehoiakim (609 -597 BC)- Puppet king put in place by Egypt 2 Kings 23:34a. When Babylon conquered Egypt he was then forced to pay tribute to Babylon. But after 3 years he rebelled against Babylon (2 Kings 24:1). Babylon came in force to defeat him and take the first wave of captives to Babylon.

it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 ESV
14. Application:
Knowing that the Word of God will be rejected is not an excuse for not making it known.
Don’t be silenced by those who want to silence the word of God.
Contempt for God’s Word does not nullify it. God’s word endures forever.
