By Wayne Gaeddert
1. Leviticus tells us how an unholy people were to worship a holy God.
2. Leviticus is named after the Levites.
3. Three words that appear a lot in Leviticus and throughout the Old Testament are: unclean, clean, and holy.
Being “clean” or “unclean” was a ceremonial designation governing the ritual of corporate worship. It has nothing to do with being dirty and needing to get cleaned up.
Unclean-Generally, the Mosaic Law spoke of something as “unclean” if it was unfit to use in worship to God.
Clean-Fit to participate in worshiping God.
Holy-Set apart for worship of God, not to be used for any other purpose.
4. The word priest(s) is used 189 times in the 27 chapters of Leviticus.
5. In the Old Testament, priests were the link between God and man.
6. Priests were descendants of Aaron's family. Numbers 18:7
7. Aaron had four sons: Nadab, Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
8. Types of sacrifices:

17. Application:
The first barrier that must be addressed to have a relationship with God is admitting you have a problem with sin and believing that Jesus has provided the only acceptable sacrifice to cover your sin.
Forgiveness prompts you to worship the one who justified you before God.
There is only one way that leads to salvation.
The New Testament believer is asked to offer their bodies as a living sacrifice, by doing so, they worship God in a way that is a witness to a lost world.
