2. Righteousness - a right relationship with God.
3. Beth-arbel was the site of a battle, unknown to us, that Hosea used as an example of what would happen to Israel (v14).
4. At Gibeah the tribes stood together to punish Benjamin for its sin. See the story in Judges 19-20.
5. Riches can lead you to stop depending on God.
6. Rejecting the counsel of God will lead to judgment.
7. Believing the lie is a trap that leads to death.
8. “There is a way that seems right to a man,
but its end is the way to death.” Proverbs 14:12
9. “Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Psalm 20:7
10. “Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help
and rely on horses,
who trust in chariots because they are many
and in horsemen because they are very strong,
but do not look to the Holy One of Israel
or consult the Lord!” Isaiah 31:1
11. Application:
· How have you spent the blessing God has given you? See verses 1-2
· What you sow and what you till will determine the crop that you reap.
10:12 sow righteousness reap steadfast love
10:13 plow iniquity reap injustice
· God can remove from your life those things that interfere with your relationship with Him.
