Lessons Learned
1 Thessalonians 5:1-11

1. Heaven is a prepared place for prepared people.
2. “In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” John 14:2-3
3. ‘Day of the Lord’ is a time when God’s power and holiness will be revealed.
4. The ‘Day of the Lord’ will occur suddenly and unexpectedly.
5. When a woman is pregnant, labor pain is: inevitable, begins suddenly, grows more intense, inescapable, and is painful.
6. Darkness refers to the spiritually dead.
7. Light refers to those who have responded to receive the gospel.
8. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16
9. Sleep in verses 6 and 7 is referring to spiritual laziness and appearing to be like the spiritually dead.
10. “for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8
11. “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” Romans 10:17
12. Believers will not experience God’s wrath.
13. Application:
· The day of the Lord will come without warning when people are feeling confident about their future.
· The day of the Lord will be very different for believers as opposed to unbelievers.
· Believers are to act like children of light.
· The believer’s faith, love, and hope are vital in order to provide protection from the attacks of the enemy.
