2. Bethel means house of God

  • Abraham built an altar here. Gen 12:8

  • Abraham returned to worship. Gen. 13:3-4

  • This is the place where God spoke to Jacob. Gen. 28:10-13

  • Jeroboam set up a golden calf here. 1 Kings 12:28-29

3. Gilgal is the place Israel came to when they crossed the Jordan into the promised land and set up twelve stones as a reminder of what God had done for them.

4. Being in a special place to worship is not beneficial unless the heart is prepared to worship God in spirit and truth.

5. Pleiades- A constellation with 800 stars. In the time of the year when this became visible signaled a new agricultural season.

6. Orion- is a prominent constellation that is visible throughout the world. It is one of the most conspicuous and recognizable constellations in the night sky. Wikipedia

7. Creation is natural revelation that demonstrates God’s creative power.

8. “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20

9. God is not hard to find.

·        Creation clearly puts God on display. Romans 1:20

·        The Holy Spirit works within the heart of man pointing to Jesus.

10. God desires an exclusive marriage-type relationship where He is the only spiritual influence in your life.

11. “Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” 2 Corinthians 5:20

12. God expects His followers to be His ambassadors (2 Cor. 5:20) to display His grace, mercy, and love to a broken and fallen world.

13. Those not prepared to meet God will not be able to escape the judgment they deserve.

14. Application:

·        All who seek the Lord will live.

·        A day is coming when God will bring justice against those who have practiced evil ways and have not repented.

·        Believers should be known by: their love of good, their hate of evil, and their being just in their treatment of others.
