Gospel of John 10:7-14, 25-30

1. John 7 The beginning of the Feast of Booths.
John 8:12-59 Continues the Feast of Booths.
2. John 9 thru John 10:21 Healing of the man born blind.
John 10:22-39 Jesus being cornered at the Feast of Dedication.
3. The door provides security for those inside.
4. Thieves have no regard for the property of someone else.
5. False teachers do not consider the welfare of their followers.
6. Jesus prepares the way for us by leading in front of us.
7. Compare John 10: 7-15 with Psalm 23.
8. The Feast of Dedication was a celebration of the victory won by Judas Maccabeus over Antiochus Epiphanes (167 B.C.) and the re-dedication of the temple (164 B.C.) that had been defiled by Antiochus Epiphanes.
9. The followers of Jesus are sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading in their lives.
10. What God has to offer:
Eternal life.
Never experience destruction. (Never perish)
Safety from the evil one.
The Cost:
Listen for His voice.
Deny self, take up your cross daily, and follow Jesus. Luke 9:23
11. Truth rolls off of the hard heart, not being allowed to penetrate to bring about repentance.
12. Application:
Jesus is the only door where you can make peace with God and enter the kingdom of God.
Abundant life is found through faith in Christ.
